Eternal Vigilance

Created in 1947 by Bruce Moore, this medal has a deer on the front and a vulture on the back. The artist selected the deer as a symbol of the vigilance required to survive potential destruction in the animal world. The deer could not survive without its keen perception of approaching danger. The vulture symbolizes destruction. People too must be ever vigilant to protect themselves and their freedom from destruction.
